A great walk on a warm summers day. We were staying on the Essex coast for a couple of weeks, and it had been a while since I’d done a decent walk. The 40 Summits concept was still in its very early stages but the need to get out and about was strong. I wanted to do something that was a bit of a challenge and at a little over 10km it was something my daughter could join me on as well.
We set out from the pier in Clacton-on-Sea after breakfast, and made our way towards Walton-on-the-Naze, arriving at at the pier there around three hours later. We stuck mostly to the very clearly marked coastal path, passing through Holland and Frinton-on-Sea as we went.
A great days hiking along the English coastline!
