A summer coastal walk along the Jurassic Coast on the Isle of Purbeck.

We were staying in Swanage so started our hike from there, walking the coast path along the cliffs from the south of the town, down to Durlston Head. A quick stop to look at the castle and the globe, and we were on our way again, heading along the South West Coast Path. And to be honest - we just kept going. The paths are clear and well signposted, and there are various stopping points along the way if you want to take your time. Our original plan was to try and make it all the way the Chapman’s Pool, but we didn’t quite get that far. In the end we stopped at St Aldhelm’s and headed inland to Worth Matravers and the pick up point for our lift home.

Particular highlights along the route were - Tilly Whim Caves, Anvil Point, Dancing Ledge, Winspit…

A great walk with some stunning views along the way, a bit of accent and decent along the way, but nothing too strenuous. Well worth a look if you’re in the area.
